BRITISH COLUMBIA PNP 2024

British Columbia - The BC PNP has a number of streams/categories with varying criteria and nominates immigration candidates based on the ever-changing labour market needs of the province.

 

Province accepts applications in the following categories:

 

BC PNP Skills Immigration is divided into the following categories:

  • Skilled Worker Category — Individuals who have received an eligible job offer in a skilled occupation. Workers are expected to have several years of experience in their skilled occupation.
  • Healthcare Professional Category —Individuals with experience and eligible job offers, as physicians, nurses, psychiatric nurses or allied health professionals may apply. An eligible job offer must be acquired for one of 11 qualifying health occupations.
  • International Graduate Category — Individuals who have graduated from an eligible Canadian university or college in the last three years. A job offer must be obtained from a BC employer to be eligible under this sub-category.
  • International Post-Graduate Category— Graduates with Masters or Doctoral degrees from an eligible educational institution in British Columbia in the natural, applied, or health sciences programs of study. No job offer is required to apply under this sub-category.
  • Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker Category — Workers in certain entry-level or semi-skilled positions in tourism/hospitality, food processing, or long-haul trucking, or those in entry-level or semi-skilled positions living and working in the Northeast Development Region of British Columbia, may be eligible for immigration through this program.

 

The Province of British Columbia [B.C.] regularly conducts tech-pilot draws under the following categories:

 

  • SI - SKILLED WORKER - 
  • SI - INT’L GRADUATE 
  • EEBC SKILLED WORKER 
  • EEBC INT’L GRADUATE 

In addition to above; the province also conducts regular draws for below categories:

 

  • SI - SKILLED WORKER
  • SI - INT’L GRADUATE 
  • SI - ENTRY LEVEL AND SEMI-SKILLED
  • EEBC SKILLED WORKER 
  • EEBC INT’L GRADUATE

Apply without a job offer to the EEBC — International Post-Graduate Category

 

B.C. employers have made it known that they are seeking workers with graduate degrees in the sciences, and the government of B.C. has reacted accordingly.

Individuals with a master’s or doctoral degree in the sciences received within the past three years from an eligible program at a post-secondary institution in B.C. may be eligible to apply under the International Post Graduate category, as long as the post-graduate degree was obtained in one of the following natural, applied or health sciences:

  • Agriculture
  • Biological and biomedical sciences
  • Computer and information sciences and support services
  • Engineering
  • Engineering technology
  • Health professions and related clinical sciences
  • Mathematics and statistics
  • Natural resources conservation and research
  • Physical sciences

Candidates must provide evidence of their intention to reside in B.C. This evidence may include:

  • the length of any previous and/or current period of residence in B.C.;
  • connections to B.C. through work, study or family; and/or
  • a description of any actions taken to settle in B.C., such as finding a job or place to live.

Education:

Master’s or doctoral degree from an eligible B.C. institution. Only open to natural, applied or health sciences graduates.

BC PNP Tech Pilot extended to June 2021

The BC PNP Tech Pilot has been extended to June 2021 to provide B.C. tech employers with the continued ability to recruit and retain international talent when local skilled workers are unavailable. 

The BC Provincial Nominee Program Tech Pilot offers an expedited immigration pathway for people with tech skills applying to be permanent Canadian residents who will contribute to B.C.’s shared prosperity.

 

Eligible Tech Pilot occupations

Technology companies hiring for occupations that are not eligible for the BC PNP Tech Pilot are still able to connect with the concierge service regarding their specific needs.
 
Tech Pilot job offers

If your employee applies with a valid job offer under one of the 29 eligible occupations, their job offer must be for at least one year (365 days), and the job offer must have at least 120 days remaining at the time of application.
